1. Pros - How did you start? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I started by making every mistake possible 3 or 4 times. The one thing you shouldn't do is sit in a station skilling-up waiting for the time when "you have enough skills to do something". Get out in space immediately and do something. Mine, mi...

2. PVP pilots, how they get isk to buy ships? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I've been away for several months, but most PvPers have a money making alt. There are a select few (and I'm not one of them) that can make a living doing just PvP. As stated most major Corps I've been in have a reimbursement policy if you lose a ...

3. Why are some wrecks yellow, and some wrecks white - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
LOL. I played EVE for 4 years, took an 8 month break, and this is still a topic of discussion. Salvage is for everyone. The only folks who get upset about it are mission-bears, and most of them couldn't care less. It's a game mechanic - deal wi...

4. Future Domi pilot needs skill advice. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Well, to each his/her own of course, but I would not shield tank a Domi. You have 7 low slots with more armor to begin with - I'd go armor. Lots of room for plates and hardeners plus the repper if req'd. Still leaves room for weapon upgrades. W...

5. Eve character creation - less options? Want to get into a Raven fast. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

6. Eve character creation - less options? Want to get into a Raven fast. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The Raven is a really nice ship. When you say "as fast as possible" please keep in mind that being able to un-dock a Raven is not the same as being able to fly a Raven. All the characters now are pretty much one size fits all. I haven't mad a new...

7. double-click to "goto" - what's the third coordinate? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
When you double click, you're setting azimuth and angle, the "altitude" occurs over time. Think of it as plotting a vector. The best way to visualize would be to use the tactical overlay and see how how your ship moves.

8. Which race should i be for what i want to do? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Currently, there is virtually no difference between races. As stated, CCP has gone out of their way to assure "plain vanilla" across the board. For PVE, I would suggest that Caldari ships are the way to go. That being said, you'd have a slight leg...

9. What ammo do you use? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Almost exclusively DU. In particular, the faction DU at the LP store. For me, it's the best balance between range and damage, I recall it does three types of damage, and has the best tracking multiplier I think ( x1.2 ? ). If you like up close an...

10. 8 days of EVE - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Red vs blue is R-V-B channel if I recall correctly. There is a Corp called Eve University. It's basically a training Corp for rookies, but I'm lead to believe pilots do spend their whole careers their. They seem like a good group by all accounts....

11. Please, tell me how NOT to suck. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Good advice by others above. I have a piece of tape on my monitor that says "Get your drones stupid!" My mainline BS is appended with the name "Mk-17" My BC is the "Mk-27" I don't even bother numbering the cruisers and frigates any more, I shou...

12. Exactly how much isk are you expecting to make with lvl 4's? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I too keep an XL workbook for each level of missions. (as well as three spiral bound notebooks of sheer drivel)I think Dracthera is pretty much on the money. Another factor would be your the effective quality. In general an effective qual of +34 w...

13. A Few Various Questions - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Although an Incursus has 3 mids, it's very rare to see it set for shield tanking. I think this is primarily due to the fact that it has about 50-60 (?) more armor hp than shield when it's "naked". Generally for lvl 1 missions you can get by with j...

14. A Few Various Questions - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
In general you should either shield OR armor tank. Not both. When you look at the fitting section on a ship you might see that it has 3 mid slots and 5 low slots - this should be armor tanked, a 5 mid 3 low would be shield tanked. There are some ...

15. Fitting out and fighting my new Stabber (long query) - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
"Kiting" is basically the act of running in circles while pounding away at the target, always staying just out of range of the targets damage. Played EQ for 6 years. Had a Shaman, among others, and the idea was to hit the target with "damage over...

16. Fitting out and fighting my new Stabber (long query) - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I'd go with 220 autocannons, range/falloff/damage is probably only marginally less than the 425's at your presumed skill levels and you'll pick up about 15% in cap which may free up a low slot. Also for lvl 1&2 they track a bit faster. There are s...

17. Low sec living - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
14 ships killed, 1 podding in the last 24 in that system. I'd be hesitant to tell the Universe what low sec system I'll be in setting up house. There are some folks in EVE who actually shoot ships and stuff. I've always thought that for mission...

18. Initial skills suggestions and race combinations - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

19. Salvaging w/ Mission Question - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I haven't parsed every mission, but I'd guess that for lvl 3/4, the salvage tends to roughly equal the mission payout. Of course it varies from mission to mission. I never paid much attention to the lvl 1 missions, but I'd guess they pay too. Seem...
